What I work on

I work on hands-on design to manufacture engineering: composite tooling and thermoforming for UBC Solar's aeroshell, independent aerodynamics research, and industry piping design. I care about building things that actually get made. I'm particularly interested in automotive and aerospace systems, with a strong passion for design engineering and building innovative mechanical systems.

CAD surfacing, composite tooling, thermoforming, and piping design that progressed from concept to manufactured parts and issued drawings.

From a self-built wind tunnel to UBC Solar's competition vehicle, I enjoy building and testing ideas, not just designing them.

I care more about accurate engineering than impressive numbers, and I report results with their assumptions and limitations.

Supported piping and facility design on operating oil and gas infrastructure in Calgary under senior engineer supervision: pipe stress analysis, drawing redlining against ASME and CSA codes, wall thickness calculations, and bill of materials verification against AutoCAD isometrics. No images shown for this work, the projects involve critical energy infrastructure and are confidentiality restricted.

Aeroshell Designer · UBC Solar

September 2025 to Present

Design and manufacture composite tooling for the aeroshell topshell and windshield, from CAD surfacing through waterjet-cut jigs and vacuum thermoforming. Contribute to CFD-driven aeroshell geometry iterations and develop process documentation and training material for new team members.
